we know that the containers will both contain the same amount of water meaning the larger container will have the half of it’s capacity left. therefore p=0.5
for the smaller container, imagine filling two containers (one large and one small) with the same volume of water the amount the smaller one’s capacity is filled will clearly be greater than that of the large one. thus, q>0.5
