Chemistry question

Hi is the answer C)?
heating a substance increases it’s kinetic energy so the movement of the particles increases

The answer is B, i dont know how. Its from pearson chemistry mentioned on entermedschool study schedule

CORRECTION :warning:
At the melting point, kinetic energy remains constant, and potential energy increases. This is because the heat is used to overcome the forces keeping the substance solid. Only once that is done will the heat provide kinetic energy.
