Crossing over question bio

answer is C
I cant understand why would it be C and not D
I couldn’t choose between the two
like it doesn’t mention whether the outcome is heterozy or homozy so i couldn’t decide

the chromosomes would be in pairs though as they have been replicated by this point, so the inner chromosomes would be a replica of the outer chromosomes.

so by inner and outer you mean after crossing over right?
if so then in normal they were AB Ab and aB and ab so…

Something is a bit weird with the question in my opinion, it should also be D, it can only be C if they literally mean that the crossing over is still taking place and they were not cut yet (considering the substeps of prophase which is a bit too much for the exam)
