I want to ask that during free fall motion there is no effect in acceleration because it is constant i. E gravitational acceleration pointing downward. Is my reasoning right or is there some other reason for this

Yes this is true because the gravity is always constant and downward. And also it’s true in the situations that the object has 0 velocity or is thrown upward.
