I suggest rereading the notes and then, while rereading, making questions directly to Anki. Then use Anki as a tool for your note-reading,
oh ok thanks ari
Should I use this method (20% of page questions and 80% text) for maths and physics too instead of linear note taking?
Hey! For the concepts yes, but for practicing questions it’s not important, just use a regular draft
Ok thanks
Ari I have these maths books: cgp A level maths; Barrons SAT maths book and A level for dummies maths book
Not all the syllabus topics are in 1 book so which 1 do you suggest I use?
And for physics:
I have physics for dummies 1 and 2
Did you learn book 1 all chapters and book 2 all chapters ? Or book 2 up to chapter 5?
I meant or book 1 (I know I need to learn all chpaters in it) and book 2 up to chapter 5?
many thanks
Esther
Barrons are great but you will have to watch a lot of videos together with them to make sure you understand the concepts.
I don’t remember the specific chapters so I will have to take a look at this soon.
I’m using cgp maths book coz it covers most topics in syllabus and I thought I would learn missing topics from SAT maths book
Do you cgp book is good enough for imat?
Mind sharing a specific name of a book? I will review it myself so I can get a better idea and let you know in a few days after reviewing it
yeah its called A level Mathematics Exam Board: Edexcel CGP
I think its good enough tbh coz it has all the knowledge on polynomials, circle sector (question in 2022 IMAT), logarithms ( so recurring topics in maths for IMAT)
triangles; probability
it just doesn’t have everything on triangles like thales theorem (IMAT exam 2021)
Hi ari when should I get back to you about the books?
let me know
many thanks
Esther Whitaker
Hey @esther1999 I ended up looking for more books beyond what you’ve mentioned, I am looking for the best one to suggest to you! It will take a few more days most likely
ok thanks ari
I’ve started studying with this one now and I think its ok
I can’t find any pdfs of it online tho - i can scan you pages of important topics for IMAT and you can tell me if pages contain enough info on that topic?
Did you just use your SAT maths for dummies book For IMAT ?
because if it contains enough info I can just use that 1 too (pdf version of your website)
Hi ari
I was going to prepare myself for another medical entry test for next year.
I need to learn biology and chemistry for it now though until march 2023
(and maths & physics till march)
I don’t want this to conflict with my learning for IMAT test
Is it ok for me to learn Bio & chem now for other exam or will this negatively affect my IMAT preparation?
Hey! I don’t see a reason it will interrupt your IMAT studies.
Hi
I don’t want to get exhausted by learning biology and chemistry too early though
so How do I learn biology and chemistry and not be exhausted before IMAT exam?
many thanks
Esther
Hi ari
sorry to bother you
Should I use my maths cgp book ari or have you found a better 1?
many thanks
Esther
Hey! Yes, you can use your cgp books, they should be sufficient! I also suggest the following book (and more from the same series) for a basic understanding
https://www.amazon.fr/dp/1790340098?psc=1&th=1&linkCode=gg2&tag=cybpxywo-20
ok thanks again ari!
