Simple steps to solve word problems:

  • Underline key information
  • Determine what they are trying to ask, and what you will need to solve it
  • Eliminate any non-essential information
  • Draw a picture, graph, or equation
  • In moments of high stress like exam taking, always work with the paper they give you to avoid careless mistakes.
  • Solve.

This is best solved by the process of elimination. Get rid of as many options as possible as fast as possible and then take more time with the intricate ones. First off, we can eliminate B and D because they can be represented by the top view and the left side view (when looking at the picture face normally). Next, if we look at C, it is pretty straightforward to see that it is the bottom view. Finally, we are left with the right side of the figure which will describe A or E. The right side contains 7 different small-sized slits when looking at it from the side, which matches A. E must be incorrect because there is no option that has two large slits. The only side with a large slit is the bottom, and there is only one.

\fcolorbox{red}{grey!30}{Therefore E is correct.}
