Hi!

From what i understand the letters are the coordinates of the grid
we get:
AA AB AC AD
BA BB BC BD
CA CB CC CD
DA DB DC DD

From this we can eliminate figure 5) since it should be CA not CB.

I’m kind of stuck, personally i would choose figure 3) since the black squares follow a wave pattern between the 2nd and 4th row.

Could we have the solution? Maybe we can figure out the pattern by working backwards
