Logical thinking problem

I want to know How to solve it

Hi!

miles needed to have a price of £63:

47 + 0,30 (x-40) = 63

i think we multiply by (x-40) otherwise those first 40 miles will be counted twice

x = 93,6 miles

so if we drive the car for just one more mile, we add 0,30p to the price (£63,30) and the day van is now cheaper

one extra mile makes us drive just about 94 miles
