At the last step can I put 2^1/2 instead of -(-2)^1/2?

Hi

I think you can, a negative sign in front of a parenthesis changes the sign of the figures inside it.
also note that 2^1/2 = square root of 2¹

The same I did, but a website on the internet kept the negative signs and wrote -(-2)^1/2.
