Hi, the correct answer is D, and I suppose so due to some calculations of oxidation numbers.
My question is, isn’t KMnO4 supposed to be “Potassium permanganate” instead of “potassium manganate”?

hi,
i agree with your thinking, but google says “Manganate consists of manganese in +6 oxidation state while permanganate consists of manganese in +7 oxidation state”
and “manganate ion is (MnO4²⁻) while permanganate ion is (MnO4⁻)”
so D) is correct
