Hey! Why C-C average bond enthalpy is more than Si-Si?
It’s because of the more bond energy that C-C has in comparison with the Si-Si?
@AriHoresh
Hey, bond enthalpy is bond energy.
“Bond Enthalpy, also known as bond energy, is a quantity that offers insight into the strength of a chemical bond and, by extension, its stability.”
The Si atom is bigger than the C atom the electrons forming the bond are farther from the nuclei and don’t lower their energy as much by forming the bond.
