Phys 2021 question 54

At an athletics competition, a hammer thrower swings a hammer in a horizontal circle.
Immediately before releasing the hammer, the ball at the end of the hammer is moving at a
constant angular velocity of 10rad/s in a horizontal circular path of radius 2.5m.
Which row in the table gives the speed and the magnitude of the acceleration of the ball just
before release?
row 4
row 2
row 3
row 1
row 5

acceleration = radius x (angular velocity)^2 = 10 x 10 x 2.5 = 250
speed = radius x angular velocity = 2.5 x 10 = 25

Therefore row 1 is correct, and the answer will be D
