Probability dice TOLC 2022

A six-sided loaded die, with the numbers from 1 to 6, has a 6 on the face with probability 1/3 and
the other faces all with the same probability. When you roll this die, what is the probability that it comes out
an even number?
A) 1/2
B) 2/3
C) 5/6
D) 3/5
E) 4/15

in a 6 sided die →

the probability of 6 is given as 1/3
thus the probability of any of the 5 other sides would be =>. 1 - 1/3 = 2/3

probability of any 1 of the 5 sides would be => 1/5 x 2/3 = 2/15

since we’ve been asked about probability of any even number our favorable outcomes include either 2 or 4 or 6. Since this in an independent event thus we can calculate the combined probability by merely adding all 3 favorable probability => p(2) + p(4) + p(6) = 2/15 + 2/15 + 1/3 = 9/15 = 3/5

Hope this is the correct solution.
