Can someone answer this question

The manufacturer’s price for a certain product is £25. Before getting to the store, the product passes through several intermediary firms. Each of them increases the price by 1.5 or 2 times, providing services for the storage and transportation of products. The store makes a margin of 20%. After that the product goes on sale at a price of £405.

How many intermediaries were there between the store and the manufacturer?

A-8

B-3

C-4

D-11

E-5

Hi!

This is how I solved it, keep in mind I’m not the best at math:

The store’s margin is 405*0,2=81£ made in profit
So the price of the product when it’s sold to the store is 405-81=324£

If the price is always multiplied by 2:
25*2x=324
X=6,5

If the price is always multiplied by 1,5:
25*1,5x=324
X=8,6

The price could be multiplied *1,5 or *2 alternately, but our result would have to be between 6,5 and 8,6

When looking at the possible answers, only A) fits as an answer

Is this the answer?

Hope this helps!
