hey mate, I guess your confusion is based on “Glass D contains a fifth of THE TOTAL VOLUME of water”, here it is meant like one fifth of ABCDE combined [or 1/5*(E/4+3E/4+E+D+[D+E])=D, so it becomes D=E. However, I’m not so sure with the answer because from my solution both answers A and E must be correct…
