Protein keratin

keratin is:
A. a protein present in the dermis of all vertebrates
B. a protein present in the superficial layers of the epidermis
C. a protein present in the adipose layer of the scalp
D. a non-protein substance determining hair color
E. the cuticle lining of insects
unfortunately, I don’t know the answer to this, so can anyone help?

Keratin is a fibrous structural protein that’s found only in the epithelial cells in the EPIDERMIS. It helps keep our nails, skin and hair healthy and strong as it’s filament like structure provides support: helps healing of skin too. You can also find them in hooves, horns, etc. A good tip I use is that when I see keratin shampoos, it’s to “strengthen” hair haha
I believe the answer matches best with B. What do you think?:))
