I think I have a good grasp on formal charge but I still think there’s a gap in my knowledge. My question is Calcium Acid Phosphate, Why is it written CaHPO4 not CaHPO3 in terms on formal charge?

Can’t we use formal charge to prove any compounds stability? I’m asking how can we prove CaHPO4 in terms of formal charge
Thank you for replying, I do understand now but I have a last question on your last point about FC not having to do with structural preferences, When we are plotting the Lewis Structure and we want to check the stability of each atom don’t we check the FC? or technically that isn’t structural? Sorry for my questions and taking up your time.
