Solve this Maths question

In a hotel we have workers, cabbies and pilots. For each cabbie there are 5 pilots and also
there is one pilot for each 2 workers. Calculate how many workers, cabbies and pilots we
have in the hotel if the total is 1760 persons.

Hi
My solution to this is
Assume no of cabbies = x
Then no of co-pilots = 5x —> no of workers = 10x

So total is 1760
So,
x+5x+10x = 1760
16x = 1760
x=110 (no of cabbies)
5x = 550 (no of copilots)
10x = 1100 (no of workers)

440 workers, 88 cabbies, and 1232 pilots THIS IS THE ANSWER.

Hello,

Since for each cabbie we have 5 pilots and 10 workers, which is a total of 16 people, I used fractions of 16 (1/16 ; 5/16 ; 10/16)

1760/16 = 110, so you multiply each numerator by 110

1 cabbie * 110 = 110
5 pilots * 110 = 550
10 workers * 110 = 110

= 1760
