Test di medicina Q43 2018

  1. Which of the following compounds dissociates releasing 3 ions for each unit formula?

A) Na3PO4
B) NH4MnO4
C) CH3COOH
D) HgCl2
E) KOH

I thought it was A) considering there’s 3Na atoms in Na3PO4, but the answer is D). Please let me know what my mistake is, and what part of the syllabus this belongs to; many thanks!

A will release 4 ions, 3 Na and 1 Phosphate so a total of 4, not 3.
It’s just a wording trick question
