Why is the answer A?

hello! a tricky wording for this question but it is actually pretty simple. the reason we call we need an organic molecule is that in aerobic respiration we use O2 as our electron acceptor which is an inorganic molecule. but as in fermentation we wont have O2, we need another molecule to accept the electrons to regenerate NAD+. pyruvate is one of the examples.
hope this helps
